Don't let anyone tell you cycling is not a team sport. This was learned the hard way today, I was the lone Savage Hill member, one may say I was "riding the short bus" today. The course was about 1/2 mile oval, with no hills (boo), no turns (boo) and constant pedaling (boo). I spent the majority of the race up front trying to control the race and staying out of the 4 wrecks that the M.O.B. squad caused (I want to know where the heck these guys learned how to hold a line). By the time we started the last lap, I thought I had great position, 5th in line, but then got swollowed up by the M.O.B. Squad and Indiana Hand Center teams, and didn't have much left to sprint from the middle of the field.
All things considered, a good race. Looking forward to racing with a team over July 4th weekend.
Highlight of the day: getting a FREE Pepsi after the race!!!
